The end of summer is a good time to think about the different kinds of experiences we have when the weather is warm. Even if you live somewhere that is always warm, summer is a different season. Thinking about your summer, what can you count? How many books did you read on lazy summer afternoons or sitting at a table in the cool, cool library? How many relatives did you visit? Or did they visit you? Did you take a trip? How many miles did you travel? Charlie doesn't read, and he didn't go on a trip but he did make one new friend and that counts for a lot! How many dogs in this picture?                                                      One dog. Charlie's friend, Schubert!

Let's Get to Work!

Let's make things. Let's build things. Let's draw and write. Let's read and discover. Let's do! If you need help, ask. If you don't need help, say, thanks, I'm doing this myself . Either way, good for you! Winter days are good for doing and making. Enjoy these short days and use them up! Are you looking for ideas on what to make? The PBS Parents site has lots of interesting ideas. Their site is on our list of things we like. You could make some little boats.  http://www.pbs.org/parents/crafts-for-kids/recycled-cork-boats/ Or, you could make a book to keep your drawings and ideas in.  http://www.pbs.org/parents/crafts-for-kids/diy-mini-art-book/   There are lots of good ideas, too many to count. Or get a book from the library. Whatever you do, send us a picture of what you've made, we'd love to see what you're so busy doing.
